About
Our wallpapers are made in Chicago, IL and our fabrics are printed in Montana. Since our founding, we’ve made a conscious effort to support American mills for its production because of their eco-friendly print processes, fair wages to their staff, artist-owned manufacturing and operations.
Wallpaper: Lead time for wallpaper is 2-4 weeks. Many of our papers are digitally printed since we don't have to stock inventory. We print the rolls to order. The paper we use is PVC-free, non-woven paper. It has a smooth finish, and it's wipeable and fade-resistant. We can print digitally on vinyl and mylars, but these substrates are not as eco-friendly as they never biodegrade, so we prefer paper products instead.
Some artwork is screen printed by hand the old-fashioned way. These papers are printed on clay-coated and fire-rated paper for residential use only. This process allows us to use metallic inks.
Fabrics: Lead time for wallpaper is 2-4 weeks. Our fabrics are printed using the dye sublimation process. This digital printing process uses non-toxic water-based inks to heat transfer into polyester textiles to create rich, durable colors. The fibers are able to withstand fading and washing because we use nontransferable inks. This process allows for indoor, outdoor use and washability, where cotton fabrics that have been inkjet printed fade easily and wear much faster. Performance fabrics are engineered with life-friendly, sustainable C6 technology to keep dirt and liquid from penetrating fibers to increase the fabric’s lifespan.
Art Prints: Lead time for art prints is 3-5 days. Our collections of artwork are printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper (smooth texture) or William Turner paper (watercolor texture). The maximum width for art prints is 44" by any length. The artist signs each art print, and they come in limited editions of 20-100 prints.
Rugs: Lead time for rugs is 8 weeks.

We currently ship to the United States and Canada at the moment. If interested in shipping elsewhere, please email us at info@relativitytextiles.com for more information and to learn more about the process.

We prefer to use FedEx for the rolls and yards of fabric. For samples, we use both UPS and USPS. We may be unable to track your sample order as we don't always use priority mail for sample deliveries.
If a pattern is in stock, it will ship within 3 to 5 business days from the time your order is placed. If your selected pattern isn’t in stock, it will be printed to order and take 2 to 4 weeks. Artwork can take up to 7-10 business days, and rugs are estimated to take between 8 to 12 weeks.

Samples, Wallpaper, Installation & Support
Of course! Our standard sample size is 8.5”w x 11”h these individual samples are available for purchase on each individual product page. Kindly note that we don’t offer returns or exchanges on samples.
We highly recommend purchasing a sample first to check colors. While our wallpaper photography is color matched to each product, colors can vary on computer screens. It’s also important to note that our samples are all pre-cut, so while they should contain all the colors of the pattern, they likely will not include full elements of the pattern, for example, a whole deer or flower.
They’re available in 1 linear yard and can be ordered through a showroom representative. Please reach out to us at info@relativitytextiles.com and we’d be happy to make arrangements.
Our wallpapers are digitally printed on Type 2, class A fire-rated commercially viable non-PVC paper. Our wallpaper that’s hand screen printed uses vinyl inks on clay-coated paper.
For commercial projects such as restaurants and hotels, we can custom print on vinyl and mylars to achieve a supremely durable substrate. We don’t recommend this for residential use
First, we recommend measuring your walls to make sure you have an accurate measurement in inches of height and width of the portion of the wall you’ll be covering. Please note that if you’re wallpapering a wall with a door or window, that square footage rarely factors into the calculation unless it is a significant portion of the wall. Below, you can learn more about the difference between single and double rolls.
Single Rolls vs. Double Rolls
Our digitally printed designs are printed in 10-foot increments and packaged as 3 panels of 10 feet. Our rolls are considered double rolls, which means that each double roll is 30 feet or 10 yards long (a single roll is 15 feet or 5 yards long).
For our screen-printed designs, we print 1,500 feet at a time, so we have continuous rolls available for purchase at 30’ increments. Similarly to our digitally printed rolls, a single roll is 15’.
If your project requires two double rolls, for example, we recommend ordering two of our rolls. If you need two single rolls, order just one of our rolls
All surfaces must be smooth and sound, free of dust and peeling of inferior paint. Use of a pulp or acid-free liner is necessary. Writing on the wall to aid in the installation should be done with a light pencil. Never use a ballpoint pen or marker, as they will show through.
Old Walls: Remove existing wallcoverings and sand. Wash and clean thoroughly to disinfect and eliminate mold and bacteria. Patch and sand as necessary to achieve a smooth surface. Prime with a universal wallcovering primer (T9000, Sheildz, 1-23). Do not use oil-based primers.
New Walls: Smooth, eliminate dust, and ensure room temperature (55 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer) for at least 12 hours prior to installation. Properly prime walls: Latex paints must be cured with a product such as Gardz. New plaster must be properly cured (60-90 days) and feel cool to the touch.
We highly recommend our wallpaper is installed by a professional wallpaper hanger. Unsure where to find one? Here's A list of trusted, certified hangers.
On each of our rolls of wallpaper, you’ll find detailed installation instructions for your particular paper. For more information on the installation process, we’re breaking it down step-by-step in our hanging guide.
Of course! We understand selecting a wallpaper that’s perfect for you and your space can welcome a lot of questions. We’re here to help. We offer complimentary design consultations with an in-house experts. Please complete the form here to get started.
Product Care
Wallpaper: All of our wallpapers are washable using a mild soap that doesn’t contain detergent. We recommend rinsing with clear, clean water. Stains caused by grease and oil may not necessarily be able to be completely removed. Do not use an abrasive washcloth when wiping the wallpaper.
Fabric: No harsh detergents are needed for cleanup. Spray water and dab up the stain or spill. Fabrics can be machine washed cold and machine dried low without fabric softener or air dried. Only machine wash when necessary.
