2025 Updates
I’m at a pivotal moment in my professional journey, and I want to be open about it. It's time to amplify my voice regarding Pattern to Profit and switch up my branding for a successful launch of some e-courses and high ticket offers I've launched. I'm in the process of writing a book titled, “Pattern to Profit,” which I believe will be a valuable resource for artists once it's published. With the economy feeling so uncertain lately, I can’t help but feel a bit anxious about the road ahead. That said, I'm committed to staying positive I have always known that my skills will shine through and I'm confident my contributions will be recognized. I take immense pride in the work I’m doing to empower artists... it's just that I've also experienced growing disillusionment with the interior design industry as a whole.
The disparity in wealth distribution—from vendors to designers, contractors, and finally to homeowners—has left me feeling undervalued at the bottom of the totem pole. All my heart and soul pours into these designs and I'm making the least money of all involved? That doesn't seem right. So, I aim to disrupt this paradigm.
That’s why I’m determined to devote part of myself to the artists-- a population that is underserved and lacking resources, at times. I'm lucky to have this little business sustaining me financially, but the past few months sales have dwindled. I feel that hysteria creep in, the one you might also be feeling, "What if sales don't improve? How will I pay my bills?"
For ten years, I've avoided working for anyone else. But, lately I've been looking at part-time jobs because I have a family of three to support. It’s a challenging balance. For all of those of you out there who have been doing textiles as your side hustle, I know it ain't easy.
This is my vulnerable truth. I feel like we ought to be talking about this more. Like HOW do these other artists really make a living? I want to know more about multiple income streams and passive income too.
When I get time, I am diving deeper into it on my podcast, “Artists Who Thrive.” I record it whenever I can, and you can check out my latest vlog (I know, it sounds silly) on YouTube. I really only have 8 days per month when my kids are with their other parent so it's been sparse.
Before I wrap up, I want to extend a warm invitation to all artists and textile designers-- if you're eager to learn more about Pattern to Profit and make your own products, please sign up for my email newsletter down below.
Let’s work together, if you are in need of a mentor in this field. I have a lot of tricks of the trade.
Thank you for being here. - Erin
