Erin Minckley Chlaghmo, Founder & Lead Designer

Erin Minckley Chlaghmo is an artist, teacher and mother of two boys. Her passion for pattern led her to screen printing and fabric dyeing while studying in Chicago. After receiving her MFA in Fiber & Materials Studies, she worked for a variety of fabricators and artists, including a local wallpaper manufacturer. Learning how to set up an artwork in Illustrator for print production for many accomplished design houses, Chlaghmo decided to branch out on her own and start her own label. It is through the process of learning textile design techniques and teaching them to others that Relativity’s philosophy was born.

Spending summers in Morocco is a source of inspiration for Erin. Her breadth of knowledge of textile history are always the basis of her work, drawn from an array of sources that span the globe. Her mission is to share her unique design aesthetic with you, and that it can warm your home and at the same time connect you to a global community of makers.

Kelsey deLisser, Design Assistant

BFA School of the Art Institute of Chicago 2018

Kelsey came from Miami, Florida to study textile design and silkscreen techniques in the Fiber & Material Studies Department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She will graduate in the Spring of 2018. In her first screenprinting course taught by Erin, she learned how to make repeat patterns and fell in love with the process. Native plants and ocean scenery influence her personal artwork; her affinity to water stems from growing up in her parents’ sail loft. Kelsey is a workaholic and an Adobe Suite whiz.
